in this day and age, when women are reclaiming the right to be “girlie,” pink has made a huge comeback. wait a minute. that’s not quite right. pink never really went away. but pink is becoming huge now. i mean, how often did you see pink leopard print in the past?

now i, of course, think that pink the most atrocious color in existence. yes, i vehemently hate orange, but something about pink has always made me want to hurl. why must such a horrid color be associated with girls? blue is much calmer color, but it “belongs” to boys. i’ve always preferred blue. or even red. now red is a great color. but the watered down pastel version of it is the color that girls wear. red is too strong for girls; red is worn by the harlots. well, okay, that’s not the case anymore. but pink is still in there!

i see so many girls now embracing the color pink. everything must be pink. everywhere i go, there are women in all sorts of pink things. yes, it’s good to take the things traditionally used to represent girls (back when they were considered weak/meek/sweet) and give it a new, i am woman hear me roar twist (such as the pink leopard print), but i just can’t get on the pink bandwagon. simply because the color pains my eyeballs.

maybe i just hate pink because i can’t wear it. it makes me look all weird and washed out. something about pink disagrees with my skin tone. pink is a very blonde color. and since i’m not a pale blonde, it doesn’t work for me. but then, blue doesn’t work for me either. it also makes me look strangely ill. but i love blue. i just don’t wear it. this makes me wonder is pink is such a popular color in asian countries? color schemes are always different everywhere you go. i know that the chinese get married in red. it does not mean harlot there. maybe pink isn’t such a hot baby girl color there either. i’m living in the wrong country. or maybe this country just needs to stop talking about melting pots and supporting non-white people and start soing it.

i should do a whole other section on racial issues. ooo, fun.
